European Heritage Days



From 17 September 2016 to 18 September 2016

First organized by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, more than 30 years ago, the European Heritage Days  are an invitation to discover or rediscover Parisian monuments for free. Numerous special events take place over one weekend at participating venues.

In addition to the opening of top attractions (Elysée Palace, Matignon, Musée d’Orsay and the Arc de Triomphe), visitors can discover contemporary buildings such as the Philharmonie de Paris, the Fondation Louis Vuitton and the Cité de la Mode et du Design.



Paris Design Week


From 03 to 10 September, Paris celebrates the best in creation and design! Galleries, schools, studios and workshops offer you a chance to discover a compendium of contemporary collections. Situated all across the city, these shows invite both professionals and the general public to unearth great dexterity and new trends.

PARIS DESIGN WEEK is fast becoming the definitve cultural counterpoint that is raising the bar for design weeks across the world. Overlapping the M&O PARIS September show and uniting the French and an increasingly international design community, the PDW city becomes immersed in promenades, cocktails, exhibitions… culminating into the celebration of emerging talents at NOW! LE OFF.

The Fountains Night Show in the Gardens of Versailles


When night falls, the gardens are transformed to offer a stunning visual and musical treat as fountains and groves come alive with colourful and dramatic lighting effects. This year once more, lighting and stage-effects artists will light up the gardens and display their surprising installations to the strollers: water features in the Mirror Fountain, lasers streaking across the dark in the Colonnade Grove and the fireworks display in front of the Grand Canal by the Groupe F to conclude the evening’s entertainment.

Euro 2016

Logo UEFAFor the third time in France (after 1960 and 1984) Euro will take place from June 10th to July 10th, 2016. 24 Nations will play during more than one month 51 matches.

It will be the first time for Island and Albania playing for an International competition. As well Slovakia, Walse and North Irland will play for the first time for Euro. Belgium and Hungary will play again after 16 years and 48 years absence.

The surprise remains for Netherlands (Champion in 1988), Greece (champion in 2004) and Danemark (in 1992) won’t play for the Euro 2016. Bosnia Herzegovina also was not selected.

The whole competition will take place in France in particular in Paris at the Parc des Princes or the Stade de France..

The opening match will be on June 10th 2016 at 09:00pm with France-Roumania. France is part of Group A and will meet Albania on June 15th in Marseille at 09:00pm and Switzerland in Lille on June 19th, 2016.

Tickets can be prebooked on the UEFA website before the end of January. In February they send a confirmation by text. Once all the matches will be known in March, people who bought their tickets in June/July 2015 will be able to resell them on the UEFA website.



The musical Cats by Andrew Lloyd Webber composed in 1978/1979 from Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats and other poems of Thomas Stearns Eliot, will be fully performed in French at the Mogador Theatre, from October 2015 and for 90 performances.cats-logo-seo

In the time of Klimt, The Vienna Secession

180 works taken from Belvedere museum collection and also private collection show the evolution of Gustav Klimt from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the Expressionism.

For the first time in France we can appreciate the reconstitution of monumental works as Judith I and Beethoven Frieze. Along the visit you will see his most important works of his life and also some rare documents on his artist life and family.

“A very particular attention is furthermore paid to the first years of the Secession and to the influence it exercides on the artist’s formation through the major Viennese intellectuals, such as Carl Schuch, Tina Blau, Théodor Hörmann, Josef Engelhart, Max Kurzweil, who, just like him, spent time in Paris at that period. the artistic personalities who influenced his art are summoned up thanks to a choice of paintings coming from the Belvedere, presented alongside works describing the history of the movement’s patrons. Thus, the exhibition shows important masterpieces from the Secession and from the Austrian vanguard, such as the first works by Egon Schiele and Oskar Kokoschka.

A final section of the exhibition is devoted to Viennese art forms, to the ancient and refined trade of craftsmanship, which engendered pieces of furniture, and to precious jewels, to splendid ceramics, as well as complex reconstructions of works and of rich historical documents, witnesses to the genesis and to the evolution of great artists and architects of that period, such as Adolf Loos, Josef Hoffmann and the Viennese Studio.”
